explorations in
design history
This is a series of projects That I completed for my design history and context course. the first project is an event card for an album listening party inspired by antiquity, stone carving, and the trajan typeface. The second project is an art deco-style poster for spiderman-across the spider verse. And finally, a design for a shoe catalog advertisement inspired by the emigre style of the early twenty-first century.

inspired by antiquity
august 2023
this project was inspired by the stone chiseled lettering prominent in antiquity. I used photoshop to achieve this effect with the type treatment as well as the art work. This poster was designed to advertise a listening party with minimal peripheral information.
spider-man:

poster
inspired by art deco
august 2023
this is a poster was inspired by the swiss art deco era of the 1920’s. They used large forms and simple layouts to communicate. It was a future forward philosophy that i found to be very intriguing.
Scarpa catalogue
this is an advertisement for the scarpa instinct vs — a popular climbing shoe model. i was inspired by the emigre movement that was something of a response to conventional design. Less emphasis on readability and more emphasis on experimentation and computer integration birthed this unique style that i resonated with.
